Managing Teamwork and Organizational Climate

Teamwork Effectiveness Profile© This instrument is designed to provide feedback to individuals to evaluate their effectiveness as team members, and to groups as to their effectiveness in working with other units in an organization. Typical dimensions of teamwork effectiveness include understanding and responding to othersí needs, communicating effectively with others, applying knowledge and skills, gaining cooperation, maintaining supportive working relationships, solving problems and managing unnecessary conflict, contributing to overall organizational effectiveness, and maintaining high standards of excellence and quality. This instrument can be used at any level in the organization.

Interpersonal Skills Profile© This instrument is designed to be used either as a self assessment tool or to elicit feedback from others with respect to peopleís interpersonal skills. Typical dimensions include creating and communicating a vision and sense of purpose, building positive relationships with others, collaborating with others, maintaining effectiveness under stress, dealing effectively with conflict, maintaining flexibility and openness, building trust, operating with ethical integrity, giving timely and effective feedback to others, and self assessment capability. This instrument is designed to be used at all levels of an organization.

Organizational Climate Inventory© This instrument is designed to identify issues and concerns that employees have with respect to organizational climate. Unlike the Management Impact Profile©, which is targeted specifically at individual managersí behavior, the OCI© is designed to provide more general feedback about the organization. In most cases the dimensions would typically include clarity of direction, translation of strategic intent into operational reality, communication flow, empowerment, teamwork, people development, rewards and recognition, customer focus, support for diversity, problem solving and conflict management, leadership, and ethics and organizational integrity.
